Game Mechanics
The in-house system use exploding D6 for all rolls. The DM can use a D100 for percentage rolls.
Exploding dice; a 6 results in taking that die and a new, then rolling both. Continue until no more 6s are rolled.
Skill check / difficulty roll -
roll Xd6, result should be below threshold. Results above threshold is a failed roll.
Normal difficulty is 3d6
Easier roll; remove die from total
Harder roll; add die to total
Critical rolls -
Success; all dice show 1 except one (getting a 6 cancels the crit, even if the roll is successful). If the difficulty is only one die, a result of 1, 2 or 3 is a crit success.
Fail; getting two or more dice to show 6, there is a risk for critical
failure. If the check fails, the roll is a crit fail

Damage roll
Roll the amount of dice told by the weapon+damage bonus. If skill check was a critical success, add one die to damage roll. Damage rolls are also exploding dice. Final sum is the damage done.
DM roll; d100, percentage roll, or contested roll with Xd6
