People and cultures
People and cultures
There are a multitude of people and cultures spread
over the world,
producing different features
in appearance, preference of habitat and to some extent even abilities.
The races that hold the major civilized
cultures and empires are humans, dworig,
ailvu and uruks. There are two
races however, trulr and vetter, that are not builders of civilizations, rather
the former is fully nomadic and later is tribal in their organization.
Races, their
origins and traits
There are many myths and theories about the origins
of the species of humanoids in the world.
In the modern age
there is a major discussion between academics
who study the theories of life and its origins. Some argue that at some point there must have been a common denominator while others refute this and instead say each race is fundamentally different in origin and that at some point there instead began a co-evolution. More outlandish still are interpretations of religious and mythical texts,
some saying that each species
has origins from other worlds
and brought together
by some higher
deity while
others claim some sort of catastrophic event causing the appearance of the different races. Beyond the
cause of creation, biologists and anthropologists agree that certain features are
shared between all humanoid races, specifically the dimorphism between the
sexes with varied degree but all share the same attributes as it comes to
procreation, as the female carries, birth and has the natural means of
nurturing the young.
Racial conflicts
Conflict between different racial groups is not
uncommon. While there are and have been cultures that have had peaceful
coexistence between racial groups the opposite is also true.
Peculiar abilities
Over the last decades there have appeared people
possessing peculiar abilities that people around them claim to be near
supernatural in performance. These abilities are most commonly described being
skills that a person is able to perform in a manner that it is beyond what a
normal person ever could dream of achieving. Because of this the term of a
natural genius is given to anyone that shows such great ability. While not too
common the appearance of such natural geniuses seem to be ever rising in the
modern day and while particular skills may vary a common feature among all of
them is an uncanny ability to focus their minds onto whatever skill or task it
is they are undertaking.
